How do I use a Gratafy gift?

Simply open the notification email or gift printout you received and follow the steps to receive a Gratafy redemption code. This code can be used immediately or refreshed at any time for when you are ready to redeem at the bar or restaurant.


When will you be in _______ city?

We are expanding into new cities every month! If you’d like us to come to your city, please tell us here. Oh, and tell your friends too – the more votes your city gets, the faster we’ll be there.



Gifting

Am I actually sending a real gift or is this one of those PayPal money transfers?

Gratafy is all about great experiences (literally, that’s what we sell) so we want to make sure every gift recipient has the best one possible. Therefore, we believe that sending a gift should be real, personalized, and waiting for you at the place where it was purchased.

We also believe it should be really easy for a gift recipient to redeem their gift, and certainly without having to front any money. Is that even gifting? You can even include a tip on the item you send so there’s no need for the recipient to reach for their wallet.


Who can I give a Gratafy gift to?

Anyone! Gratafy lets you send a gift to anyone via email, text message, or Facebook, regardless of whether they’re already a Gratafy member. Even if they’re a little late to the online party, you can turn a gift into a print document and hand it over in person.


How long do I have to redeem these gifts? Do they expire?

In most states Gratafy gifts have no expiration date (we abide by the CARD act and expire gifts in some states – regardless, you’ll typically have 5-7 years in those states). The code displayed on your smartphone is temporary and unique, but can be refreshed at any time.


What if I don’t have a smartphone?

We’ve got you covered. Just print out a certificate for your gift(s) before you head out to the venue. Please see “Do I have to use my smartphone to redeem gift?”


Do I have to use my smartphone to redeem gifts?

Nope. After activating your gift, you’ll receive an email with a link to redeem it. Open the link in the email from a desktop computer and you’ll have the option to print the gift for a friend, or print it for yourself to take to the restaurant. Once you’re at the venue, order your gift item(s) as you normally would, then give the server the document with the 9-digit code. The gift will be paid via Gratafy on your check.

Please note that a few of our partners require us to manually generate a printable certificate. Just send us an email with some information about the gift you’re trying to print and we’ll get back to you lickadee split.


How do I redeem a gift?

After activating your gift, you’ll receive an email with a link to redeem your gift. Once you’re inside the venue simply open the link in the email from your smartphone and select “get gift code” to generate your redemption code.

Then give your server this code (note: you do not need to physically hand your phone to the server!). That’s it! The gift will be paid via Gratafy on your check and automatically removed from the “My Gifts” section in your account.



Print FAQs

I don’t see a print option for this bar/restaurant. What do I do?

Darn it. Some restaurants only support Gratafy’s digital gift codes. If you want to give a printed gift anyway, just email support@gratafy.com and we’ll get you a special printout that you can give in-person.


Will Gratafy print and mail this for me?

Unfortunately, no. We don’t send out physical gifts but we do allow you to either print your gift or send your gift instantly through email or text.


How do I print my items while making a purchase?

Once you make your purchase, select “deliver or print” and you’ll be given the option to print out your gift or deliver it instantly to the recipient. You’ll also receive a confirmation email that will let you access this page at any time.


How do I print my items from my purchase email?

Once your purchase is complete you will receive an email that summarizes your order. From this email you can continue printing or delivering if you haven’t yet done so.

Simply click on the “deliver and print” button in your purchase confirmation email. From there you will be able to print by clicking the “treat someone else” button. If the bar or restaurant supports printed gifts you should see the option to print on the next page.


I want to print a gift certificate to give to Grandma Josephine who doesn’t believe in smartphones. How can I do this?

Just visit the link in your receipt email and choose “treat someone else”. Select print as the delivery option and you’ll be able to enter a name and message.


I have a print-out for a gift that I want to put on my smartphone. Can I do that?

Absolutely. Just click this link from your computer or smartphone, enter the nine-digit code printed on the gift certificate, and you can convert that paper gift into a gift that’s impossible to accidentally leave at home. Well, unless you leave your phone at home, and then you have bigger problems…
